BOX BRAIDS
Box braids are individual plaits that are usually divided by small squared off parts or boxes. Box braids come in a variety of widths and lengths, and the parting which creates the boxes can be small, medium, or large depending on preference. Following the creation of the box, the hair in the box section is divided into three even subsections and braided all the way down to the ends. The beauty of these braids is that, unlike cornrows, they may be styled in a variety of ways because they are not tied to the scalp. The style may take a long time to accomplish, but the end result is stunning and lasts for months.(picture @braidssbyjazz_)
KNOTLESS BRAIDS
Knotless braids are similar to classic three-strand box braids in appearance. They come in a variety of sizes and lengths. Knotless braids are distinguished by the absence of the little knot that begins at the root of typical box braids. This knot is traditionally used to secure braided hair. Instead of knots, a feed-in braid technique is used to produce the hairstyle with knotless braids. This entails gradually adding little amounts of braiding hair to your natural hair, resulting in a braid with a flatter appearance. As a result, your braids will be less heavy on your scalp, reducing the chance of hair breakage.
TWISTS
Twists are a lovely protective hairdo that promotes hair growth and health. If you've had enough of box braids and want to try something new, twists could be a good option. Twisting two sections of hair around each other from the root to the ends creates a hairstyle known as two-strand twists. Hair sections can range in size from huge to small. Twists are incredibly light and produce very little tension on the hair's scalp. Havana twist, Marley twist, Senegalese twist, Twisted top knot, Two-strand twist, Curly twist, and Passion twist are just a few examples of twist hairstyles.(picture @maggo_atelie)
FEED IN BRAIDS
Feed-in braids are really popular right now. A stylist feeds braiding hair into your natural hair beyond the start of your hairline to produce feed-in braids, also known as knotless braids. This gives the illusion of naturally thick braids. Feed-in Braids are a thicker form of cornrows that can also be worn as a protective style for a few weeks. The elevated plaits are kept looking ultra-sleek with the help of a gel. These braids are sometimes inspired by Ghana braids, which start short and thin in the front before thickening in the middle and tapering again at the end. To achieve a distinctive aesthetic, try experimenting with different thicknesses. When gold cuffs and other hair decorations are put to this design, it looks wonderful.(picture @tasha_worldofstyles)
CANEROWS
Cornrows or Canerows is a braiding style where the hair is braided very near to the scalp in a continuous, elevated row employing an underhand, upward motion. Cornrows are commonly worn in basic straight lines, but they can also be dressed in geometric or curved shapes. Canerows are frequently enhanced with hair extensions for extra length. Canerows are worn by both men and women, and are occasionally embellished with beads, hair cuffs, or cowry shells. They are not only beautiful, but they are also ideal low-maintenance protective hairstyles. That may be left in for weeks provided they are properly cared for and your scalp is moisturised. Even better, the looks you can create with them are virtually endless. It's time to embrace cornrows and let your hair shine, from sleek, seductive, and basic to colourful and outrageous! DISCLAIMER: Please note that the lengths of the hair varies depending on whether it is a 82” solid colour or a 24” ombre pack. Therefore, take this into consideration when deciding which quantities to purchase. If a long ombre hairstyle is desired, we recommend purchasing 2-3 extra packs than you would normally buy. - SLAYOLOGY
